Here are a couple facts about me:
- I hate ads on websites.
- I really hate ads on websites.
- I’m broke.
As much as I hate to put ads on my pretty, ad-free website, I have had to do it so I can afford to keep it going in the future. I’m disabled and have a very limited income. HostGator had a really good offer for new customers (65% off) and I combined that with a rebate offer from Swagbucks, so the cost for setting up the website wasn’t too bad. However, both deals were for new customers only and I don’t know what will be available when it comes time to renew. It is my hope the ads will help cover the cost of renewal when the time comes.
I am using Google Adsense and have tried to set it up so it isn’t really annoying. At the moment, it is set so Google will automatically place the ads when and where they will earn the best. Sometimes you will see ads, sometimes not. Right now, it seems to be placing the ads along the edges and not between paragraphs. If it starts putting them in annoying places, I’ll play around with it some more.
If you could consider leaving your ad blocker off sometimes while visiting the site, that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your attention. I now return you to your regular downloading.
